My cat, Molly, was afraid of people, and Janet knew exactly how to coax her out of her hiding places with love, gentleness, toys, and treats. On one occasion, she took a picture of my Molly, had it framed too. My Molly who was 13 years old recently passed away, and Janet knew how my heart was broken. One day while Janet was at the Humane Society, she took notice of two special “Kiddies” who are mother and daughter. Janet was told how very sweet both of them were, but that they had to be adopted out together because their bond was so great. She called me, told me all about them. The following day I went to the Humane Society, saw them, played with them, and fell in Love. They came home with me, and they started healing my heart right away. Both of my dogs require a bit of extra attention as one has a medical condition that needs daily monitoring and the other is extremely shy and finicky about everything. For those reasons I am quite the overprotective pet parent. Before we found Janet I was always uneasy when I would go out of town and leave my dogs at a boarding facility. I was constantly thinking about them in the back of my mind and could never truly enjoy myself. Kind of like the feeling you get when you think you may have left the garage door open.

Since we have been using Safe At Home Pet Sitting I do not think twice about the safety or care of my pets when I am gone, I can finally relax! From the first time Janet came to meet my pets I could tell she was going to be great. She knows exactly how to carry herself with the dogs and has a presence that puts them at ease. Janet is extremely professional and you can tell she loves what she does. Each time she comes to see the pups she makes note of what they did or did not do and even leaves fun comments about their silly behaviors. She is always sending fun pictures and updates to me via text which just make me smile and lets me know everyone is doing well. Janet doesn’t just come feed my dogs and let them go to the bathroom, she interacts with them, takes them out in the yard and plays ball with them, anything she can do to make sure they are happy while we are away.

One of the things that stuck with me when we were searching for a pet sitter that made Janet stand out from the crowd was the fact that she wasn’t trying to tell me what times she was available to visit my dogs, she wanted me to tell her when they normally went out and when they were normally fed. Her goal was to make sure their schedule remained as normal as possible. Janet is extremely easy to work with and always does her best to get us on her calendar even if it is the last minute. She always lets me know if something is different with one of my dogs and last time she was watching them she even came for an extra visit because one of my dogs had been going to the bathroom more than usual and she didn’t want him to have any trouble holding it. That alone lets me know that she is really aware of their behavior and making sure they are comfortable is her top priority.

I can’t say enough great things about Janet. I am always 100% satisfied with her service and I know my dogs are too. Usually when we get home from a trip I can tell they are waiting for her to come back and visit! Like I said before, I can truly tell Janet loves what she does. This is not a hobby for her, she isn’t the pet sitter you hire from craigslist, this is her passion and her career and she treats it as such. I would recommend her to anyone and I wouldn’t trust my dogs with anyone else!
